Kartik Tyagi first caught the spotlight during the 2020 ICC Men’s U19 World Cup, where he was part of India’s runner-up finish, impressing with his pace, swing and ability to nail yorkers under pressure. That promise translated quickly into a TATA IPL opportunity, with Rajasthan Royals signing him for the 2020 season after a bidding contest with Punjab Kings. Tyagi made his T20 debut that season for RR, dismissing Quinton de Kock on debut. His defining moment came a year later. Defending just four runs in the final over against Punjab Kings in IPL 2021, Tyagi held his nerve to pull off a stunning win, announcing himself as a bowler for high-pressure situations. However, injuries and inconsistency have since stalled his progress. Despite being part of Sunrisers Hyderabad and Gujarat Titans along the way, opportunities remained limited. Tyagi returns to the IPL in 2026 with Kolkata Knight Riders, signed for INR 30 Lakh.
